X FACTOR star Chris Maloney has been accused of ‘scamming a stranger for a £6 taxi’.
The 45-year-old shot to fame in 2012 on the ninth series of the ITV singing competition.
Yesterday X Factor 2017 star Jack Remmington shared some messages about what had happened on Twitter.
Jack had posted a meme about Chris, 45, on his Instagram story and the person, named Amanda, who claimed she was scammed, replied to his post.
She said: “CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT CHRIS OWES ME £6 for a taxi he scammed me with !!! He’s blocked us off social media cause he’s a SCAMMER !!!!”
He asked her for more information about what had happened.
She continued: “So basically me and my girlfriend were walking down our local high street. Chris approached us. HE APPROACHED US. Asking if we knew we knew how to get a taxi around here.
“We said there’s Uber/bolt etc. He went on saying could you order me one please and I’ll pay you.
“So ellie (my girlfriend) ordered one and he went into a shop to get a vape and came back out and said ‘DM ME ON TWITTER’ so we did.
“He got in the taxi, sped off with his shades on and f***ed off to his hotel. (Which was a 2 minute walk) I asked him why can’t he walk and he said he has COPD (fair).
“Anyway. Ellie DMs him, I DM him, my friend tweets him that he owes us £6 for the journey. AND HES BLOCKED US ALL !!!!!!!!!”
Underneath they shared a print screen confirming that Chris had blocked them on Twitter.
Jack captioned his post: “Christopher Maloney being a 6 quid thief was not something I expected to learn today.”
The Sun have contacted Chris’ agent.
